Currently a third of all microfibres polluting our marine habitats come from consumer's washing of synthetic garments. That's huge! And over half of all garments currently end up in landfill. I just hope that people can see that fast fashion is designed to make us spend money. There is no happiness in trying to keep up with the trends of these mega brands. Shopping sustainably has not only reduced my carbon footprint, but it has helped relieve my anxiety as I step away from the 'fast' lane.
I have always had a deep love for animals and the planet. We as human animals often see the fact that we have a higher intellect as a reason to decide the faith of the animals we consume, use, and test on. I see this intellect as a responsibility we have to keep this planet as green and as happy as possible and to harm no animals, human or otherwise, in the process. Thrifting gives me the power to not contribute to the horrible practice that is fast fashion.
