It's pretty shocking for a brand that states: "We promote the wellbeing of every worker by supporting efforts to create safe and healthy working conditions and UNIQLO works closely with each factory to ensure the production of high quality clothes."

I'm starting to explore small ethical businesswoman that I feel comfortable supporting because I think supporting those who are doing it right is just as, if not more important, than "boycotting" fast fashion brands. I'm focusing on my mindsets that are potentially misguided and hoping to learn from others in this ethical community because I know that valuing those right in front of me also in this movement is just as important as trying to advocate for people I may likely never meet.
I find it so much more rewarding to have less clothing now. It has helped me figure out what I really want to be wearing and what my style really is, separate from the trendy clothes at fast fashion stores.
I also think a change in mentality is helpful. I would rather wait and save up for a better quality item that I love to death and that will last me years, rather than spending money on lots of different fast fashion things.
